Brilliant pupil of the flute class of Marie Jo Lamotte, in musical CHAM classes, he rubs shoulders with Yann Tiersen, Yvan Cassar or Vanessa Wagner. Promised for a career as a soloist, Yann multiplies the first places in competitions and perfects his instrument with Ida Ribera, professor at the Paris Conservatory. This one presents it to the famous concertist Jean Pierre Rampal. Yann Crépin is also noticed by the conductor Jean-François Paillard with whom he is introduced to various chamber music ensembles. In spite of all these encouragements, Yann abandons the idea of a musical career, and after studies in Sorbonne, becomes professor of Letters in High School. But music remains very present in his life. During the years 1996-2000, Yann became interested in Celtic music, in full swing at that time. Following a concert at which he attended the TNB Rennes, Yann discovers and falls in love with the compositions of the pianist Didier Squiban. It is after this concert that he decides, in a crazy and passionate impulse, to learn the piano alone! The harp then becomes the center of his inspiration and his listening: Kristen Noguès, Myrdhin and Gwenael Kerleo
